Had my own AE86 project - that i gave up to get the GT86. After asking my local dealer about BRZ / GT86, got the answer that wasnt the one i expected - they will be released in my country round 6 month later then FRS was in USA... So I bought FRS in USA Asked my friend to put a deposit on it in March - and got the car in Chicago Jun 20 Got the Title going - and off it was in a container - taking trip around half of the globe - to the other side of the pond

Got the car last week, so still was enjoing it as it is

Here are few pics:

The day when it was delivered to Continental Toyota:

And here it is in a Port parking lot - waiting to get loaded. At the same time - i bought Sparco Assetto Gara 18x8 with some Dunlop tires, and Eibach springs for it Wheels where on the car with the stock ones loaded inside.

Unloaded - and driving it back home Was a superb day - waitied for it to come for almost 2.5 month! And finally got it Lithuanian dealers all got demo cars right now - but if i would go and order one - it would take another 2-3 months to get it So i was super happy that i will be (might be ) first one to get the car registered as a person in LT

Here it is near my other 'toy' Sti TypeR. Not so small at all Actually side by side - they are almost the same size

Ok - so got it home Thursday - Friday took it for a few spins round home town - but driving it with IL license plates around - got local cops intrested I dont want to mess around - so will have to wait till i get Title from US - cuz Fedex managed to lose the envelope with title - and now im waiting for a dublicate...

Soooo - as i cant drive it fully yet - time to take it apart Before all the mod's - lets get one good picture of how it looks - and later on there will be some progress pics

Today from early morning - started works As i do work on all different client cars daily - its a bit hard to find motivation to get stuff going with my own cars (i have few ) But FRS was another story

Stock springs removed - Eibachs installed. Heres a quick comaprison:

After springs install - next step was to get all the nasty chrome from headlights out Started with corner lights. As i wanted them to not be totaly black inside - i used airbrush + over reduced black paint to get the black chrome look In pics its hard to see - but they are not matt at all, chrome is still see throu the black

Headlights where next. As i wanted to leave some small details stil in chrome - so i masked all the places - and sprayed some matt black along with some bumper texture paint. Here how they look after few coats of paint:

And i remebered - that if i want to get this FRS legal here - i need to add parking lights inside headlights - cuz we have a law - that parking lights cant be in the same housing as other lights (in this case - turn lights in US..)

Sooo.... Got the idea roling - and i did a little round strip of plexi glass + 2 white leds on both ends. Sanded plexi strip with 800 grit to get it looking a bit matt - and that it would light up. Heres the result:

Put the light back together - and heres comparison to the stock one:

Finished other side - and put everything back together. Looks 10x better then stock

As its still light here - will wait till it gets a bit darker - and will take picture with the leds light up

And here how it sits after Eibach springs Was pretty inpresed of the ride with them - cuz honestly it seems like they are a bit softer then Stock springs! If not - then equal to the stock ones Cuz ride aint got any more hard...

All the emblems have been changed the same day to the Toyota ones And i did Black background for the front emblem to get the same theme going as all the grills / headlights and etc

Hmmm - whats next? Build a bodykit for it. Already agreed with one local comapny who has CNC / 5axis machines - so bodykit / molds should be CNC'ned from foam straight ahead after initial scan of the car / renderings that we will make So stay tuned for more info pretty soon
what size are those rims?

And I started prototyping custom armrest with cup holder and hinges to open it up. This is just the mock up - still finalizing shape and how it will work.

This is how it will open up. Now I need to figure out how to mount it to the center console - and give it to reupholstery shop and it will be done.

When I pictured how I would do a custom arm rest. This is what I pictured. Cant wait to see how it turns out.

Dont forget to leave a space for a cord.

Yes, that cupholder/armrest NEEDS to be made. Wrapped in leather with red stitching and a little padding on top and it's perfect!

Dang dude... You're a true craftsman/artist. Incredible. I love this! Someone who is making a cupholder AND an armrest. The myths are true! IT CAN BE DONE. (Since no one else including Toyota has really figured out anything) Simple (well, in a way,) and brilliant. I love what you did with the suede bits. Your dash is so pretty I would have to remove the radio and move it down to have a continuous piece. In fact, that seems to repeat across the car... your work is so ridiculous, it's making the rest of the car look worse haha. Looks so... expensive the other materials pale. LOVE IT THOUGH. Will you be doing a silver CF (Or AL Texalium more specifically) or will it only be if someone orders it that way?
