Unfortunately, that OP never updated us on what happened.

You should definitely get your alignment checked, and have them inspect the steering assembly as well.
OHHH good call! If the wheel was turned when the car was it then it all makes sense. I was truly baffled how that little damage could cause that but bring the wheel into the mix and it all changes.

Ken, any damage or marks on the tire or rim?

Important to note, find who your adjuster is and who the person is in charge of your insurance case, upload the dashcam footage as unlisted to youtube (that way only people with the link can get to it) and then give the link to the insurance company/whoever is in charge of the case. DO NOT POST THE LINK ANYWHERE PUBLICLY TILL AFTER THE REPAIRS AND ALL WORK AND INSURANCE PAYMENT OF SAID WORK IS DONE, doing so may effect the case and investigation by insurance company. I had this happen to my mothers car a week ago and my entire family's fleet of 5 cars now has hardwired dash cams with low voltage protection The claim process took all of 3 days with the footage and USAA hunted his insurance company down, and had them pay for it.
