Mobil 1 typically consumes a bit faster on boxer motors compared to other brands i.e Pennzioil/Castro, which are all fair games....check them out at BITOG

How often have you seen threads on here about oil consumption? Dealer serviced vehicles are getting Mobil put in them. Mine has only had TGMO(Mobil) in it since new and has yet to consume a drop of oil.

I use Pennzoil in my SRT but only because Pennzoil makes an "SRT" specific oil which really is just a different weight. I will continue to use it as the engine wear is minimal with it. I've had the SRT4 motor apart twice for upgrades and there is almost zero wear 119k later. Granted Ill just be using there platinum full synthetic

Mobil 1 sometimes gets a bad rap in the Subaru community because of WRX guys modifying their cars to 400 whp and sticking with GF5 Resource Conserving 5W-30. Then they run Rotella T6 5 and go "oMG! I'm nOT bURniNG oiL! THis Rt6 RocKZ and Mobil 1 sUXoRz!" Not sure why they don't compare RT6 to M1 Turbo Diesel Truck, but everyone loves to compare apples to oranges.

Run the proper oil grade for your application. Brand is less important unless you're running some cheap Dollar General no API SL/SM/SN certified junk.

I have been running Mobil 1 in all my cars and have nothing but good experience. I was thinking of running some high end oil in my BRZ, but since its stock, I have no reason to not trust mobil 1. Maybe if I go turbo or SC next year, I would look into running something costlier, but not at this moment.

I don't bother with extra virgin. It all comes from the same olive.

car came with motul it from the previous owner. I ran it for about 5k miles before I changed it to motul again. It didn't burn a drop of oil, figured I would stick with what works
