I actually have a stock 1999 GSX with a manual transmission. I plan to get an FR-S one day and I'd love to keep my GSX but I don't know if I can justify keeping and paying for two cars so I'll probably have to sell it. But I'm not letting it go for cheap. One guy even left a note on my car, "I'll give you 2k for this." I laughed and then felt insulted...

Anyway, here's some pics of mine:

Hey, looky here, we got us a DSM thread! Here's my *cough* pride and joy, a 1991 base model Eclipse. I bought it from my next door neighbor for $1200 after I killed my 240Z in 2000. (don't ask) Never expected to like it but it had the smoothest, quietest straight 4 I have ever driven. Obviously no rocket but it was bulletproof and got better than 40 mpg on the highway.

Dealer threw me a bone. Gave me 500 bucks for her in trade when I bought the FRS. I kinda wish I had kept her but the missus wasn't having it.

Second gen engines didn't hold up well to heavy clutches. If you left them stock or had an automatic, no probs.

I'll give you a better one. I'll give you my FR-S supercharged for your Eclipse plus 2,000. Deal?

Nice. But I'm a stock kind of guy... That's why it took me forever to find this Eclipse.

Same! What I love about the FR-S and DSM platform is that they both were the products of two companies working together! I laughed at that 2K offer for your car haha. I got quite the opposite reaction, the very first day I bought my GSX for 4400 bucks someone offered me 8 grand. Turned him down, said I'm keeping this baby until the day I literally can't drive anymore.

I definitely had crankwalk in my Evo IV (the white one in my avatar), the engine being the same generation as the second-generation Eclipse.

Cool cars though. My friend had a white one way back in high school. I wasn't a car guy then but I don't think it was a GSX.

my older brother had a 99 gsx in highschool, this was around 2001-2002. very clean car and good chunk of mid range torque compared to other sport compacts at the time. I always liked them. Most are ragged out now unfortunately.

Tried to swing a deal for below but even though it was 4 years older than my Lancer GT it had only 30% of the miles on it. The dealer pretty much told me to lube up and bend over so no deal.
Found the FRS shortly after so all was good.
