...Ok am I reading it wrong, or did someone screw up?
"BOXER SPORTS CAR ARCHITECTURE is the concept model of Subaru’s rear-wheel-drive sports car now under development-the first of its kind from Subaru for the masses. Its new platform incorporates Subaru’s signature Symmetrical AWD system…" P.S. taken from last photo of the plaque |

It does say that. very strange Maybe that's why the toyota ft-86 II concept looks like it has a longer hood to be able to implement high power limited production AWD models later on down the road?

![]() ![]() ![]() From the several more new pics Hachiroku have taken, I have to say several things. 1. Engine is new Subaru boxer engine FB (not the Toyota helped ver). 2. Tranny is new tranny (prob AISEN). 3. Other parts are all old parts using from other cars. a. Suspension - STI hatch (can't 100% say for sure on the rear) b. Brakes - WRX c. Rear axle - STI 4. No Mata, from the new pics, there's plenty of space under to put turbo exhaust header. If there's a space for oil pan under, there's a 100% sure exhaust header space for it. 5. Yes, timing chain Phant. Subie have been using chain on several new engines for a while 6. Tire spec is 215/45/17 which is pretty common tire spec for that hp/tq cars. 7. From the tire spec & wheel spec, it's possible that bolt pattern can be 5x100 instead of 5x114.3. iirc 5x100 is 17x7.5 vs 5x114 is 17x8, so 215/45/17 on 17x8 makes tire thinner, but pics looks nice fit, so my bet is 17x7.5 w 5x100 8. Random pointer, but it's weird to see starter on right side instead of left side. That's all I can see... for now |

First off, these pics are fantastic. Thank you.
I can't see any FWD output shafts coming out of the tranny. Maybe because of all the chrome but I'm pretty sure there aren't any, so this probably RWD only (only based on what I can see in the pictures). I'm guessing that the plaque is wrong. |

hachi - is the smaller model identical to the big one?
i.e. are there front driveshafts on the small model, which could explain the poor wording on the plaque? great job btw. |

The pics look great in showcasing the engine although it's kind of ambiguous in the text whether it's RWD or AWD or available as both.

Those flares rock, massive. The resent moon flares on the Toyota version scare me, I don't want Subaru flares off current cars.
