Sadly, plans got changed last minute.

One of the nuts for my RCE camber plates wasn't threading and needed a tap run through it. So I had to find a buddy who had a tap and die set to help me out. We fixed the nut on Sunday. So now it's all good to go.

Unfortunately, I'm pretty booked for the next couple of weeks. Starting to look like they won't be on for the first track day this year on April 2nd.

If I can I will get them installed on the 3rd, and then try to make the next soonest track day on the 9th.

Finally got around to installing my suspension last Thursday! Drove on it quite a bit over the weekend, and took it to an autocross Sunday.

My impression has been very positive. Even with the fairly conservative spring rates the car is noticeably stiffer than stock, but the ride quality is definitely improved. (I was able to test that aspect quite a bit thanks to the terrible roads in Illinois haha)

As for the performance aspect, the car handles weight transfer in corners much better and feels more balanced overall. Even with 225/45 ZII Star Specs on 17x8 wheels I managed to place in 4th in class, with not too much of a time gap, between 3 other STX cars, all of which were on 245 or 255 RE71Rs and driven by pretty competent guys.

Adjustment is made very easy with the knobs at the bottom of each damper. Depending on ride height, you can easily reach in and adjust without having to jack up the car or remove the wheels.

Speaking of ride height, that brings me to my one gripe about the suspension. In the picture the fronts are at the lowest they can go, and you can see that it's not a big change from stock. (I actually think it looks about what I would have liked to have seen the ride height at from the factory) This is unrelated to the SACHS coilovers though, and is due to using the stock spring perches, which probably add a good 1 1/2"-2" over an aftermarket spring perch. I am looking for a solution to this, so if anyone has any input on an aftermarket spring perch that will work with an OE sized spring and RCE camber plates I'd love to hear it. haha I'd like to drop it about another 1/2"-1".

Overall though, very happy with this suspension. Excellent solution for a daily driven car that sees a moderate amount of autox/track use.

Really looking forward to trying these out on a track next month.

Thank you for your first impressions.

Did you have noticed some "klonks" from the progressive springs when they go on block?

Other than that, how would you describe body roll now with these coils and I suppose a more medium grip tire.

Unfortunately your information comes a bit late and I already decided to go with the Ohlins R&T although I would have got the Sachs a lot cheaper.

No clunks, pops, or any other abnormal noises.

Body roll has been significantly decreased with these coils, tires a 225/45 Dunlop ZII Star Specs (which have very nice grip). It could be improved a little further with new front and rear sway bars, which will likely be one of my next purchases. I want to get a track event in before making any more upgrades though.

Ah, well at least you got another very good setup. I would guess that the R&T's with the linear rates are a bit more geared toward track performance, but I do find it interesting that both KW and Ohlins recently lowered their spring rates, putting the SACHS, V3s, R&Ts, and B16s all roughly in the same ballpark.
