Agree with the comment above that it's not really an STI BRZ, or anything that'd come from an OEM manufacturer. With the air ride suspension, body kit, and bolt-on turbo, it's very tuner-ish. Not a criticism (nothing wrong with tuner cars), but seems the opposite of what you'd expect from the factory.

I like the proportions and color combo of the car, very aggressive. I think the owner has a good eye for aesthetics, I'd probably just dial it back about 30%.

I appreciate the mods that have been made to performance but from a pure looks prospective, it needs more of a factory fit and finish to make all that aero work for me. An example is where the fenders meet the door. Sorry it's just "tacked on" to my eye, almost like its a mule for a future model.

Another brz with a turbocharger and crazy body kit calling it "the brz sti that subaru needs to make"

If you want a proper brz sti. Add a turbo, keep it factory looking and dont do anything crazy with exhaust/body kits/ etc.

The Varis widebody kit is styled much more like the STi BRZ GT300 than a 'regular' STi. Check out the similarity in the side fender styling and rear quarter panel. The title should probably have been 'The street legal BRZ GT300 that Subaru won't make'.

I think this is an excellent display of what the 86 is capable of and should be praised. You should also know that Nguyen's 86 isn't just another, it is THE slammed Varis. This is all over the web because it is fucking fantastic. I'm not sure if you don't understand Motorsports or if you just didn't read the modification list, but this would destroy any BRZ STI that Subaru would ever dream of making on track while looking a million times better all day long. Maybe you've just lost your passion for these cars because you no longer own one.

Honestly, coming from a person who drifts you have no room to talk about slammed anything or "Motorsports". That's just my opinion though, since we're obviously sharing those whether they're positive or negative. I feel that the time, effort, money, and passion that went into this build and the fact that it still inspires current and future 86 owners today commands more respect than your reply affords. Maybe you should've thought twice before sharing your negativity with us today.

are you saying drifting is not a real motorsport?

I do drifting when the event opportunity comes up. Does that mean I can't talk about motorsports too?

Darn.

I respect the work that went into the build.

I do not think it looks like a STI the Subaru would or should make.

Even though I respect the effort that went into creating it, I do not like the car.

Does that make me a bad person?

Subaru did it's called the BRZ tS.

That's an example of a BRZ STI that Subaru Of America won't bring.

I don't know what's so STI about this Speedhunters build other than those STI brakes that aren't even made specifically for the BRZ (probably just a take off of a WRX STI and the brake bias is all wrong).
