Well, I never really mind wind noise, unless it's from a badly aligned door/window.... and the Bridgstone RE760 i have are quieter than the stock michelins!!

How about the golf cart sound of electric cars. Nice future, eh?

Gotta love the irony that some governments are talking about requiring sound generators on them so people can hear them better.

Grew up in more insulated economy cars, wind and tire noise in this car is louder than I would like but I would not take the additional weight of insulation so on balance I'm happy.

I'll take loud fast and sticky over quiet any day. Oh and that goes for tires too.

drove my friend's S2K with 145k miles with stock exhaust and KW3 coils, so much more harsher and louder. vibrations and noises were so much more prevalent.

I mean my car is only 12k miles but still feels brand new.

I would enjoy the feedback but not everday

We bolted in the driver's seat and put a plastic milk crate on the passenger side for my dad to sit on. Top down, of course. The neighbors did not appreciate that we were doing this at 11 PM.

It cracks me up when I see people on here whine about clutch spring rattles and rear deck ticks.

My uncle has a Jaguar E-type that he lets me drive sometimes and that thing truly sounds glorious! It feels so mechanical. It's a workout!

Then the answer is no. Syncros did away with most of the whine.

But... my Eclipse has the whine and it has syncros. I was just wondering if the whine is still there but just masked with modern insulation. Unless it is something with newer types of syncros or the tolerances (although I haven't heard anything that changed in newer transmissions other than more syncros in the lower gears).

How many miles? My Eclipse had the whine but that was after a quarter million miles. Bearings were cooked.

The Jerico race gear box I had in my circuit car was glorious coupled with the big Flowmaster exhaust sound from my V8 series one RX7.

It was priceless watching Guys heads spin when I fired it up to get if off the Trailer, not the noise they were expecting :-)
