Man, good decision...exchange rate was about 12-15 cents better a year ago!

Yep, I was planning to do the HKS supercharger this year.
But after I check the dollars I have to spend comparing last year.
I am like

In case you didn't know, one person in the Monterey area has forced Laguna Seca to run most track days with a 90db sound limit. This has made running the track with an exhaust difficult at times.

With a Fujitsubo header + Fujitsubo Authorize R exhaust, my car was able to drive at MRLS without any sound issues last weekend.

This is the exhaust I just ordered from Japan along with Tomei UEL header + Tomei OP & FP. I will make sure to post some sound clips when the parts get here which will take quite some time I thought that with how quiet this exhaust is, I would get the perfect sound I want with catless header + catless & unresonated FP.

9-month update:

Most of my miles in the last year or so have been on the track. The packing material in the muffler/resonator has had a chance to blow out and now the exhaust sounds like what it should sound like after some time of ownership.
  • Cold startup: loud, may be annoying if you live in a condo complex and don't want to wake up the neighbors. But this goes away within 15-20 seconds of initial startup.
  • Acceleration: you can definitely hear the exhaust now. It is louder than before but still one of the more quiet exhausts available. At this point, I'd say engine noise and exhaust noise was about 40/60 under WOT acceleration.
  • Drone: still no drone in the cabin at freeway speeds, but if you are in higher gears and you accelerate under load, you will hear the exhaust. Not loud but not quiet like stock either.
  • Issues: really no issues. The only possible drawback of this design is that Fujitsubo likes to use O-ring gaskets for the exhaust (midpipe to Y-pipe), which can make sourcing replacement parts a possible pain.

YMMV.

Just will confirm, that 20 second cold start is very loud, but then it gets drastically quiet afterwards. I could only imagine the horror with catless headers 0__0
However, based on my research, with the OFT you can remove that loud cold start.

Catted Fujitsubo headers however...mmm..mmm..good ....I'm still first in line Alex, make sure to Msg me first :P

I'm not trying to be that guy but why spend money when you can spend that money else where and just keep the stock catback?

If you read the thread you would know why.

1. it is quiet for tracks with sound limits.
2. it makes more sound at lower rpm but is quiet at high rpm, allowing you to enjoy the car without getting unwanted attention.
3. no drone
