I think the gold rims look a bit cheesy on red...especially if they're that small LOL (is that a photoshop?)

Gold looks good on WRB, and sometimes on silver (depending on style of rim). I say go white on the red car. That will pop like crazy and would look awesome.

I'm debating my options for my summer set up right now...tough choices.

Does anyone else's A/C compressor chirp when it kicks over?

If I have my A/C or defrost on, you can feel when the compressor kicks over, which is normal in most cars, but what isn't normal is the sound.

It chirps really loudly when it kicks over, sounding somewhat like the dreaded "crickets", except that it's just a quick "CHIRP" and then goes away until the next time it cycles over. You can hear the chirp in the car while driving when the compressor kicks over, and it's even more noticeable when stopped.

Anyone else experiencing this? I doubt it's normal, and I only have 28k on my car.

It also chirps really loudly when it kicks over, sounding somewhat like the dreaded "crickets". You can hear the chirp in the car while driving when the compressor kicks over.

My old ep3 had this problem. Comes and goes... On a side note, our ac is really loud when it's on...

Mine does not make any sound beyond the standard "click" as it starts up. Certainly not a "chirp" though.

Small car with blower inches away and the compressor almost in your lap will make for a noisy system.

ThreezZz is going to kill me for this...

But I thought it would be a good opportunity to show off my recent trunk-swap, completed this past sunday with user Taro. Many thanks to Sam for making the drive and completing the swap with me! It was frustrating at times, but fun.

That being said, if anyone local is looking to do a trunk swap in the future and needs guidance, I could probably do it with my eyes closed now, so feel free to reach out! I'm always happy to help. Took about 2.5 hours but some of that was down-time to remove badges, and lots of trouble-shooting and trial and error, as we couldn't find a thorough DIY or video guide for this process and had to play a lot of it by ear.

Anyways, I have a BRZ Sport-Tech and, as such, had the OEM Sport-Tech spoiler, which I was never a big fan of (it should be an option in my opinion). To each their own and all that, but I never thought it suited the car and just thought it was a bit...much.

Sam had an Argento FR-S with a Monogram spoiler. Originally I had planned to swap for a spoiler-less trunk, but I actually like the look of this spoiler, and it's growing on me more and more every day.

In the process, I also de-badged the trunk, and I think combined with the new spoiler, it made for a much cleaner, sleeker look.

I'll let the pics do the talking:

Yep, photoshop haha

Yeah i agree, gold looks off, wife says the same.
Probably will stay stock until i find something i really love cause it's a tough choice for these cars...so many rims but tough to find something that makes the car still look good in my taste.

That looks really clean and subtle with the trunk swapped.

I don't mind Gold on Red, but very particular with the type of wheel and size. The PS wheels seem a bit too small.
On red, my personal preference is either bright silver or gunmetal.

Btw, just read this article about plate covers
http://www.cbc.ca/m/news/canada/toro...vers-1.3064957

I don't know why they can't just regulate the use of these covers. As long as you can see the digits, what's the problem? I've gone through 407 with no issues. Also, I ran dealer covers for 1 year and darker covers the last 1.5 yrs. Poor guy got dinged 3 times.

@Mr.Impreza why do you care what other people think looks good? It's your car and your money. Do what you prefer. Countless people have told me that my green wheels don't work well with halo. Look at all the fucks I give. Beats having black wheels like 98.696969% of other twin owners.

The issue is that it's an obstruction of your license plate, which is in contravention of the HTA. Honestly, if half the people who complain about getting "bullshit tickets" actually cracked open the book filled with all the rules and regulations for motor vehicles, there'd be faaaaaaar less complaints, as you'd know what's legal and what's not. Dude in that article clearly knows it's illegal, but he also said he's not taking the covers off. Way to paint a target on yourself, buddy.

Edit: also the beauty of living in a democratic society Is that you can get into the government and change these laws if you so wish. And in my honest opinion, if you're unwilling to do that, against these "bullshit" or "stupid" laws and rules, you have no right to complain.

I have had smoked covers on my plates for over 30 years and have never once had a cop say a word about them even when pulled over for something else.

Oh and I actually like the green rims on Berg's car! Biggest issue I find with rim/tire/stance haters is people judge them based upon pictures that show them at weird angles that you normally don't see unless you are squatting or laying on the ground. Most don't actually look the same when seen in reality at a normal viewing height.
