That's what I did, and even if I really push on the tube, it doesn't get within .25" of the belt.
Not as good as the .50" clearance Perrin says you should have, but that amount is not possible due to the shape of the tube which makes it curve towards the belt.
Thanks! I'm going to give this a try. I hope I can get similar clearance to you. Hopefully I'll get the same effect as you, especially since all Perrin tubes should be similar. I'll keep you posted.

lol just realized you had answered my question in your original post if I could read better...

If you are still having trouble getting hose-belt clearance, I think you can also try loosening the airbox mounting screws at the same time you loosen the hose clamps. It looks like it could definitely move the the driver's left a little bit. Loosen airbox bolts, shove airbox over, retighten, then shove the hose over and retighten the clamps.
