I think it mainly has to do with people being to frakking stupid not to know the corners of their vehicle.

Here's a question, how was it parked? Would they have been parallel parking or was the nose facing out of the spot and they hit it because they're stupid?

I always consider which spot to park in based on the cars around that area - and I usually come back to the car to find other cars parked around me that weren't there before. So all my paranoid parking woes and speculation is for naught usually. That said, I've been parking far away from people as I can, when I can. Unfortunately at my work, the lot is full daily. Best I can do is find a friend to park next to - but after lunch there will usually be someone else in the spot.

Basically - there's very little we can do to control this if we choose to take the car out of its original packaging and play with it.

Your not the first.. someone else hit a raccoon on these forums and has worse damage than you. I believe a cracked front end? I truly feel bad for you, i couldnt imagine owning one of these cars at the current moment. Between the condensation issues, idling issues, and the sheer worry of other drivers would be a bit too much. Keep us updated on what you decide to do.

I have a dash cam on my Legacy in case someone does something stupid while I'm driving. It doesn't have a park mode though. This one does though

Thinking about getting this or something similar once my BRZ gets here.

Headlight assembly is cracked on the inside and there's a loose piece sliding about inside.

Plus, driving tonight, I noticed that the driver side (where the damage is) isn't level with the passenger side headlight. So the entire assembly will need to be replaced....damnit.

Lol, I actually came here to post that...and from Houston too! Must be something in the water.

OP: that sucks rhinoceros balls. Hopefully it was done somewhere like your home/work and you can find the culprit and return the favor. Dogshit underneath the door handles should suffice.

That looks like a great camera... looks like they don't sell it in the US though.. wonder if there is a good way to go about getting one besides the shady listing on eBay for one...
