Also, did a search here before even contacting JL and didn't find the term stealthbox.

Push for the 8"!! And if you would update us with any information we would all really appreciate it!

Those of you who have the FRS already, will a 12" sub and box fit in the trunk? I have a 12" laying around that I'd like to use. I saw a FRS at the dealership maybe a month ago but forgot to take measurements. Thanks.

A 12 will almost definitely not fit in there, unless you build up a false floor in the trunk and mount it facing up or down.

I put two 10s in there, just to see what it looked like, and ended up keeping them. Small sealed box all the way across the back of the trunk, and it doesn't look too bad at all.

I love 8s... I had 3 8w6s wired in series/parallel in one of my last cars, but I felt like going with the 10s this time.

By the way, the stock speakers in the BRZ doors are definitely NOT 8". They are 6.5s, and the mounting panels are riveted on.

Explains the horrible low end SQ.. probably pushing those little 6.5s way too hard to produce the bass that's coming out of them :P

You planning on going soft dome or hard for the tweets? I prefer soft but I'm not sure how they will sound in the OEM placement.. I prefer soft domes more directly aimed and hard if they can't be aimed at me.

Just a quick update: Went to JL Audio today and we should be dropping of the car next week. They will try out diff setups to see what works best. They might do a full system and progress will be up on JL Audio facebook.

We are still working on our vehicle specific enclosure as well. We have had some huge projects come in lately that have pushed it back a bit.

Keep in mind ours will run between $200-300 and won't come with a subwoofer in it. I've already had a ton of emails about the enclosure, too!

Just spoke to the owner of the BRZ since we worked on the car, and they should start testing the sub box next week.
