How do you use the paper guide to install the sharkfin? Seems like none of them matches up with the fin at all. Kind of anal wanting it on straight.

Love you car! I like the simple mods you're doing mostly to keep it looking nice. I really like that Asphalt color, that and the Whiteout.

Using the guide, you can cut out the shape of the fin and lay it on top of the car and use that as a guide. |

Detailing
More firsts. First proper car wash and detail. It took 7 hours total, (6:30pm to 1:30am) but it was worth it. I appreciate the collective knowledge on this forum, Autogeek.net, and that one youtube of Larry K. washing that Blackbird R8. Below are some pictures, full set on Flickr Page.
Interior Clean, Glass Clean 2 Bucket Wash with Foam Gun Clay Bar 3 Coats of Stoner's Invisible Glass with Rain Repellent 1 Coat of Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze 1 Coat of Optibond Tire Gel Finished. Looks so wet. Asphalt is a great colour. Looks gorgeous. If my dealer was correct in their ETA I'll have my Asphalt 6MT by Friday. Your pictures are not making the wait any easier.
Edit: I wish I had a proper garage in which to detail the thing. I've got to make due with my driveway. The good thing about it is that water will run off even horizontal surfaces due to the slope. Not that there are many of those on this car.

GrimmSpeed License Plate Relocator Review
In addition to detailing my vehicle, my number plates came in so now is a great time to review the GrimmSpeed Number Plate Relocator Kit. Much thanks to my pops for helping out.
The decals, and GrimmSpeed plastic frames aren't shown here. Not using them on Lola. 17mm socket to install the mount, 5mm hex to screw the angler and frame to the mount, 3mm hex to screw the number plate to the frame. I do like how everything is hex, makes number plate snatches more difficult. Packed well too, thanks Alex. GrimmSpeed-Kit by VictorN07, on Flickr GrimmSpeed recommends using anti-seize on the bolt threads. Okay. GrimmSpeed-AntiSeize by VictorN07, on Flickr Various angles of the bolt installed, and how much it extends. GrimmSpeed-TowHookInstalled by VictorN07, on Flickr GrimmSpeed-TowHookExtension by VictorN07, on Flickr GrimmSpeed-TowHookExtension2 by VictorN07, on Flickr As you can see, there is a huge hole now, where water can get in and potentially mess up things like that Styrofoam bumper. Let's drill a hole in the tow hook cover. Our first attempt at measuring. GrimmSpeed-Measuring by VictorN07, on Flickr Decided to cut out a template to mess with GrimmSpeed-Template by VictorN07, on Flickr Precision at its finest ;P GrimmSpeed-TemplateMeasuring by VictorN07, on Flickr After we got the template good, we transferred to the tow hook cover and drilled. GrimmSpeed-Here it goes by VictorN07, on Flickr Finished cover. Not perfect, but it's much better than leaving the cover off and I value the time spent with my pops. I love how it looks. Whoop! GrimmSpeed-PlateMounted2 by VictorN07, on Flickr My uni frames didn't allow a four point mount on the GrimmSpeed frame, thus it makes much rattling noises when vibrating a bit. Pulled out some rubber pipe insulation tape to dampen the vibration. Good choice since its waterproof GrimmSpeed-InsulationTape by VictorN07, on Flickr Two layers of tape and no more rattles GrimmSpeed-FrontPlateDamper by VictorN07, on Flickr GrimmSpeed-FrontPlateSide by VictorN07, on Flickr I noticed the rear frame rests on the boot lid, and could scratch the paint. Oh no you didn't. Applied some insulation tape here to lift the frame off the lid. GrimmSpeed-NoSir by VictorN07, on Flickr GrimmSpeed-RearLiftedandDamped by VictorN07, on Flickr Overall, the GrimmSpeed Number Plate relocator is a good bit of kit. Very sturdy and easy to install. I recommend to anyone who doesn't want have holes drilled in the bumper for a number plate mount. |

I'll likely do the same if I get any flak for not having a front plate. I'm supposed to have one around here but I don't know of anyone that this has been enforced on.

I'm currently considering the Nameless Downpipe and Axelback. Perrin looks to have a good system too. I think TRD will be very expensive.
