AFIAK all seatbelts are the same

my father in law has a plastic one he uses in his car that's generic brand, it costs like 1 dollar or some shit.

you can theoretically use any one, and if it doesnt quite fit, then file it down until it does.

figured i would rather bump an old topic than start a new one..

anyone found a solution yet? apparently older scion/toyota models had a way of turning this off (turn on car, set display to odo, turn off car, turn on car, hold ODO for 10 seconds, buckle both seatbelts, let go of ODO and it would ask (b-off/on)

doesn't work for me.. but apparently this is possible, without getting your dealership to do it for you..

Nope, there are some slight differences. I don't know what years are closest to the BRZ. I'll have to compare them to my STI and WRX.

The Subaru method doesn't work either. (turn key to ON, insert and remove buckle 20 times in 30 seconds, turn OFF)

Just unplug the sensor under the seat(s).

I always remember my seat belt, what bugs me is if I take it off at a drive through, or some other reason, and it just starts beeping. I don't need to be reminded to do something I've done for 20 years.

you can disable it with the techstream software and obd2 cable. the dealer can do it for you, but i'm not sure if this is something they would refuse to do for safety concerns.

I had the same issue and did the same thing... Though, it looked a bit odd, since my dog's a Corgi, and I could only managed to pull it over his rump.

It's a bummer that the sensor is so damn sensitive. I don't it mind it sensing my dog when he's riding shotgun (even he refuses to hop in the back seat), but I'm getting a little tired of belting up the bottle of water whenever I'm out of cup holders...

Can Techstream just adjust the sensitivity and not turn it off completely?

No if you spill a drink in your passenger seat it will go off too.

Odd, my FR-S doesn't have this problem. I just drove home earlier with a 24 pack and some food in the passenger seat and it didn't trip the sensor.
