I am fairly sure that even if they did plug into your ecu it will just come up as normal. Ask shiv but I bet they just come up as the stock cal ID. They can only flash the ECU at the dealer. They can't open the ROM and look at tables. The only way they could tell is to do a fairly detailed log of your car and compare it to a log of a stock car and this would have to be someone that is above your average tech. No one at the dealer is going to spent that amount of time on a normal service visit with out a reason. After all they get paid to do work not not mess around trying to see if cars have been tuned.

I had several transmission related CEL's and they used the big-gun scanner. Nobody said a word.

I have wondered about this. It appears that the tablet itself is really nothing special, it hasn't even got a capacitive screen. There maybe some hard to find hardware in them, but it's certainly nowhere near $500 worth.

The initial payment is for the R&D and the continued development of tunes. I'm sure the replacement tablets are significantly cheaper. If it's just the screen you could probably get a replacement from Vishnu for less than $50 and swap it yourself.

I broke mine also. Removalist did not take care when moving one of my fragile boxes. I emailed oft and even sent a PM through here but no reply at all.
