Why would anybody expect an Impreza driver to wave at a BRZ, or vice versa? Do they wave at people driving Foresters? There's no shared experience there.
Yup.

My previous car was a Celica GT. I never once thought about waving at another Celica driver and I never received a wave either.

Honestly, I love my BRZ, but I think people are too proud and make it more of a deal than it is.

With that said, I have exchanged waves with other frs/brz drivers and even wrx drivers since owning it since May.

hmm maybe he was. He did mention he wanted the BRZ but felt like it had too little power so he bought an STI and mentioned that he'd get a BRZ once it has more power. lol

If she's cute, I'll wave at her, even if she's in a Lancer.

yeaa! He was saying how Subiefest isn't for us and how they have a completely different booth just for the BRZ.
It makes sense to me but come on...if there's a sporty fwd subie that comes out, I'll welcome them to the family!

There's a few kids in the Palisades (where I live) that hoon around in WRX STIs and have tried to engage me a few times. One noticed the shared GrimmSpeed decal and seemed appreciative, but the rest loved trying to get me to race.

The only other guy I know with an STI was my college roommate, and he was a real gearhead. His dad did an F1 test for Lotus and drove a P1 car so I wasn't surprised. He was a pretty nice guy tho and he loves the 86 platform. He just bought one for the track actually.

I think like any enthusiasts, there's cool ones and elitist ones. I'm part of a watch forum, where people collect and obsess over watches. I maintain and restore mechanical watches. I know some people who like actively mock people who wear quartz watches and such. I can rebuild a Swiss movement myself but when I'm doing anything dangerous I put my nice watches away and strap on a Timex. I couldn't care less about other people's preferences unless they're being ignorant.

If someone really hated on the 86 platform but seemed misinformed and willing to listen, I'd welcome them to hop in or tell them some stuff. Otherwise, they can enjoy their fan club haha. Some people aren't going to change their mind for anything.

I've had two rexxys before this and I get way more positive responses from pulling up in this than I ever did in a wrx
I haven't had any negativity from wrx owners yet
I'd say he was probably just a smart ass or jealous
