Thanks guys! Basically where I'm from, the number of twisty back roads is super abundant. To put in perspective from my home county, we have two great roads to travel, hwy 11 from Smyth County into Tazewell County, or what we call "Back of the Dragon".

And here's the other one (the only good one I can get a good pic of). Hwy 58 on the other side of the county behind Whitetop/Mt Rogers

This is just within one county! Many more playgrounds have yet to be explored in my area. This car is definitely being put to good use!

Wow, such a great read. Normally when I see a thread that long, I steer away from, but I enjoyed it. Got a lot of back history that is somewhat similar to mine, but I have been nowhere close to have owned as many cars as you have. I'm interested in what you got planned for your FR-S and the next chapter to this novel!

Nice! You showed the essence of all the cars that you owned and how the experiences led you to where you are now.

And the read wasn't bad at all. There is no need for you to worry about the length of your write-up

I'm not a brand loyalist, but I am an avid car enthusiast. Brand doesn't really matter as long as it's what you want! However, I will say it being made by two joint companies that have pretty excellent reputations is always a plus!

This story was interesting because I did the exact opposite. I traded my FR-S in on a Mustang GT. The differences you highlighted between the Mustang and the FR-S, or really a Mustang and any small nimble car are true. Low speed canyon crawling is/was much more fun in the FR-S then the stang. Problem with the Mustang is it is so much bigger and so much faster, that the velocity required to really get the most out of it are A. Usually breaking the law, and B. Any fuckups at said speed will result in serious trouble.

That said I have driven small nimble cars my whole life. This time around I wanted something with some balls and that was more comfortable to cruise in. If I ever get into a position to afford a third car (second car has to be a truck for utility reasons), then an FR-S/BRZ is certainly on the table.

Great read, I liked going on the automotive journey with you....funny how similar our stories are. I was always an F-Body/LS1 guy, where 400 horsepower was a few bolt-ons away.

Love my FR-S.
