Yeah that's why I said they were expensive.

Most ppl in Oz just call them a sprinter or eight six/eighty six IMO.

As to engine codes they don't change post factory! Really it will be a 4age-t just my 2c.

Just as an FYI I have nearly all the TRD GT86 parts on order for stock ALREADY!

TRD brake pads front/rear and oil filler cap has already in, now NZ just needs the car...

are you bringing in a 20ft or 40ft container? What port will it be shipping to? Have you got any thoughts on how you're going to divide up the import duty, customs clearance, container storage etc?

Who's doing the packing/racking inside the container in Japan?

If you haven't imported a container personally before you can usually purchase some space in one of the jap importers containers. Be aware that it's pretty easy for large fragile parts to get damaged in the process as they stack the containers as full as possible to make the investment in container shipping worthwhile.

Would you be so kind as to tell a Japanese parts noob who/what YAJ is? I have tried searching to no avail.
Is this the correct Rakuten?: http://www.rakuten.co.jp/

Thanks.

I'm assuming he's referring to Yahoo Auctions Japan?

Yes YAJ is Yahoo auction Japan.

The link for rakuten is correct. Go to the Aussie page and many of those sellers will ship overseas.

never used TRD coilovers so i don't know how good they are but other JDM brands like Tein costs at least $1,500 for their entry level coilovers.

I read somewhere that TRD coils are rebranded progress coilovers but don't quote me on that :P

Also I'm not sure on how good the TRD coils are but for 3k there are many options such as the one I'm waiting for which are AST 4150 (and hoping that there will be a 4250 series too!) which i hope will be around the same ballpark figure (4250 will cost a lot more than 3k however lol). Not 40 way adjustable like the TRD but generally the euro coils are more comfy compared to the Jap coils from my experience.

In my previous car I had Teins RS (old version of the SRC) and loved it to bits on the track but driving on the hume hwy and parra road was a PITA. A mate of mine had the same car but was rolling on 8k Motons and wow.. it was instant love for motons on the streets it make the car so much more comfy compared to even the OEM units and on the track it was awesome but yeh you gotta ask yourself as well what your intentions are and if you would be happy if the coils are stiff on the roads and what not I guess...

But yes coils can cost from anywhere from 1k for like D2 and BC racing to like 10k+ for baller brands like AST 3way, Motons motorsport 3way, agorstas etc but even the baller brands have basic coils too which are cheaper...

I do it for a living, I am the TRD Distributor for New Zealand.
Will be arrive to me in NZ but I already have a few dealers in Australia (esp TRD pulled out of Australia) and mainly car clubs throughout the world from here in NZ all the way as far as Ireland!

All packed by Toyota in Japan on behalf of Technocraft TRD

And yes we have shipped many containers (distributors for many performance brands in NZ including being a Toyota dealer and TRD/Cusco/T&E Vertex distributor)

Shall get pics of the actual TRD parts that have arrived in stock already tomorrow and post up
