I'd normally agree, except OP has no idea what the stock internals can support and bought a supercharger? And a CARB-legal one, at that, when there's no need for a smog check for 6 years in California? Quote:
OP has a fear of engine issues (that are also related to warranty issues, if any arises), yet this continued negative stigma of "warranty void if car is modified" is perpetuated by other people online. The last thing you will lose is the warranty. The warranty is between the car owner and the manufacturer as long as you own the car, under the mileage/time limitations set forth in the purchase agreement. 90% of those using the word "void" has never bothered to read the warranty in its entirety... because the warranty is good as long as you own the car. Mods do not destroy your ability to claim anything, but foolish mods and a general failure to communicate (properly) will. A huge part of this is the dealer(s) you choose to work with... It's great that someone wants to collect parts for the car before they buy. But on what basis do you use to collect these parts? Previous experience? Hands-on experience? Or just internet hearsay? I bought some parts for my car (suspension, wheels) because I had a very specific goal in mind. The parts sat for 6+ months before install, mostly because I needed to make sure I wanted to keep the car beyond 12 months. And, I've worked on my own cars for the better part of 16+ years, almost 10 of them with track experience. It just comes down to a simple question: who will install these parts, and are they qualified to install the parts? If so, the other questions about what is needed to run the parts properly (in this case, a need for built internals?) are easily addressed and answered. -alex |
