Install virtualization software such as VMware, install windows on that then install OFM in it. Done.

You can get 235bhp naturally aspirated since the car makes 200 stock. A drop in filter, header, and tune should net about 230bhp.

Yeah, on the face of it a 35bhp increase isn't huge. However, I would want to do that by raising the torque curve about 20% across the rev range & also get rid of the torque dip rather than shifting more torque to the top end of the rev range. That's much harder gains to get hold of, especially in the lower half of the rev range where the stock exhaust restrictions aren't having huge effects on the power output.

You are looking at the wrong end of the pipes for NA.

You need to look at both sides of the cylinder head to find 20% across the entire rev range. I simply can't see a way to achieve that without light pressure forced induction on the BRZ.

Sounds like he wants a linear throttle which a Centrifuge type blower would be the way to go. IMO OFT+ a tuner kit V3 Vortec kit will get you there.

Actually, it sounds like he wants the phantom with a UEL header. 80ft/lb torque increase on the low end with instant response and no more torque dip.

Dont mean to bring back an older thread, but as far as running the OFT software on a mac, is buying a windows software license my only way to go? I really dont care to have to spend the extra money if i dont have to.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

You don't need to necessarily "buy" Windows

We all uses Macs here at the office. And yes, you will need to buy a windows software license to run OpenFlash Manager. Mind you, you will only need a laptop if you want to load non-OTS tunes or to review datalogs. For loading one of the OTS maps, no laptop is required as long as the OFT recognizes your stock software calibration.

Microsoft offers Evaluation versions you can test for 180 days.
See this link

And you can probably find Windows 7 in a bargain bin.

I just went through this exact issue of using a mac and having trouble fully using the OFT. When i was running VMware fusion i could run the OFT software and talk to the tablet. But i noticed that i had trouble uploading to the OFT and i didn't have access to all the functions of the program. Once i booted up using Bootcamp and ran regular windows the OFT program worked perfect and i had no problems loading or reading files. So i guess the moral is, it "can be" used running Fusion or parallels, but for full functionality running proper windows is the way to do it.
