All I can say is that I quickly learned how the 'pump' handle works to raise and lower the seat height.
![]() That helmet space in the ****pit is perfect for my head. Too bad I'll never be able to track it.

It's probably obvious but make sure the seat is adjusted all the way to the floor. It goes up pretty high and perhaps the seat was adjusted high when you sat in it. I'm 6'3" and have no problem sitting in it, the seat isn't even all the way back.

I only adjusted back and the wheel up. I did not know the seat could go down actually.

Our whole team took it for a drive today and we have a couple taller guys. Both said they were surprised how comfortable it was being such a small car. As stated above, seat goes up and down and the wheel telescopes and goes up/down. I'm confident you'll find the right position.

I am the biggest of the First86'ers by far, and I am fitting OK. I am 6'7" tall and 350 lbs. I can't close the door on a Viper because it is too narrow. I can't drive an RX7 because my knees hit the steering wheel. But, I am fairly comfortable in the FR-S considering it is roughly the same size as a Miata.

I figure I should set the record straight... I just did a test drive (it was awesome by the way) and after adjusting the seat height (front lever) I was totally comfortable. I had about 1" between my leg and the steering wheel. I was totally comfortable. I think it was even more comfortable then my 05 S4 that I sold a few years ago (which is saying a lot).
I even moved the seat forward as far as I could stand to see how much room I could make in the back seat. I could make enough to be possible to sit in. Definitely not somewhere you would want to sit for any period of time though. It is usable though, especially for smaller people. |

Im glad you gave it another go! Its pretty amazing that the car has this much adjustment in it, I actually havent even fiddled with the telescope or tilt/height of the steering wheel yet either. |

I can NOT fit in a modern Miata. I was lucky enough to sit in a FRS yesterday and was able to get very comfortable. The only problem would be a helmet. My hair lightly touches the headliner with the seat all the way down and back. I am 6' 7".
Edit: BTW I am sure people will come up with ways to fit better. I have done many things to my Miata and now fit fine in it when I had troubles at first. Lower seat rails, foamectomy, removed door handles for straps ect.

Just a general question out there, are there any differences between the adjustability of the BRZ's steering wheel and the FR-S? When I got the chance to sit in a BRZ the wheel felt closer despite the seat being all the way back, same setting for the seat with the FR-S and the wheel felt far away.
Was rather strange to me. |

I'm 6'4 215lbs. I wear 34x34 jeans, but have a 36" "cycling" inseam which means properly measured from your crotch to the floor barefoot.
I'm quite interested in the FRS/BRZ, but this past Saturday i sat in a FRS and i don't think it'll cut it. The legroom was fine, i was probably a few clicks from all the way back, but my head had maybe 0.5" of headroom. It would be ok for daily driving, but 90% of the reason i'd get this car is for autox and track and a helmet won't clear. I do have an upright and "proper" seating position with the wheel close to me. I'll keep an eye out for seat mods on here in the future. Maybe in a year or two i'll get a used one and put a racing seat in it. |

I'm 6'5" and I'm all legs - 36" inseam... I feel like I fit just fine in my Argento 6MT - BUT I'm used to being too tall for cars. I can't fully extend my leg when I depress the clutch, but I'm very used to this...
