yea the g-sports has already been confirmed to be appearing in the sydney show. Common sense would predict they show the ft-86 concept aswell and hopefully new news.
No news on whether a subie version is appearing but i'll be there on my iphone so i'll let you know as soon as i see it or not. Im trying to get tickets to the press day there but no luck at the moment |

Motor magazine in Australia just did a little article on the subie version they called it the Subaru FT-86 and said more of the same stuff modded lagacy platform only slight change cosmetically, rwd. But they said he engine will not be the same one as in the Toyota version instead o he Toyota modded head jib the subie will get a slightly modded version of the current 2.0-litre subie turbo boxer engine developing 185kw(don't know the exac conversion to hp but I think it's somewhere around the 250 mark) they also wrote that info from an insider says that both versions are currently being tested at the nurburgring by subie test drivers an that the subie version is due to debut at next years Tokyo motor show. Oh and the pic is a chop that we've seen already, the one with the front made to look Subaru with the lights the scoop and the air intakes on the side in WRX blue with gold wheels.
Is it just me or does the development of these cars really sound onesided like Toyota has just gone and said "right now that we own you, you'll do all the leg work on this new car we've been wanting to make and we'll tweek it right at the end and give it a Toyota feel"?? |

I think the Subie will be closer to $30k. I also don't think it needs awd to be successful. Just the turbo alone will help with that but I really hope they don't screw with the design too much or it'll look weird....

Is there a reason we don't get Subaru's 2.0L turbo in North America anymore? That could factor in to the engine choices for USA/Canada.

You know, IDK. I always under that too... but it's same thing w Silvia. US we got 240sx instead of 180sx which had KA24DE (which was in Altima 90's Altima).

Well we had it in the WRX, but it's gone now. Only the 2.5 right? I'm just curious if there was a reason beyond driveability. Emissions? It could help clarify what options Subaru has if they want a different motor. (Not that an EJ257 couldn't be made to fit...)

As I understand it, its because Americans like low-mid range torque versus the rest of the world that likes higher revving top end power. |
