Have you lowered the clutch pedal yet?

I hated the clutch on mine until I did that. It was just way too high.

Nope not yet. I'm actually pretty good at getting out of 1 now but I still have the bad habit of over-revving while catching the friction point out of 1.

I am practicing my aggressive driving on back roads but I still need lots of practice, I am missing shifts or shifting into 3 instead of 5.

Thanks found the mod link: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8040

Trust me, it will be much better after lowering it. Just remember to stretch before making the adjustment. Its not the most accessible place on the car.

Car was tinted and sound deadened in the doors and trunk yesterday.

The tint is nice and VA legal:

Also put in Weathertech mats:

The deadener didn't do much for cruising or low speed sound, but made the car very quiet at idle and at a stop.

I also topped off the air and checked oil for my track day.

The car did very well on SOLO last Sunday:

In sport mode the car still stepped out but in a more controlled manner than everything off mode.

My only complaint is I wanted more power and torque for the finish line. After the last turn I would step on it to burst through the end gate and then the boxster engine would fall on its face.

Maybe an Innovate SC setup is in my future.

I bought some mods from FT86SpeedFactory today for two upcoming track days:
  • Stoptech Front and Rear Brake Pads
  • Raceseng Topologi Shift Knob

My car is at 7000-ish miles as of today, so when the parts come in I'll get the oil changed and tires rotated at my local independent Subaru shop when I get the Yellows installed as well.

I have an automatic FR-S for rental through tomorrow. So far the ride has been great.

The shifts are quick and sport mode seems to make the car shift more aggressively. If you told me this was a DSG box I wouldn't know.

The only weird thing about the gear selector is you have to press it right to get it out of P to get it to D.

Also, same road noise as the 6MT car.

Same driving dynamics so far and I don't miss shifting at all.
