35E was the plan and then meet around Waco. Then grab food in SA at one of the places I mention above.

281 could work, Dustin could meet us in Cleburne or Glen Rose.

FYI, Lime Creek has had increased LEO activity as of late. Not sure what time of day and what day y'all were planning on going, but Saturday & Sunday mornings/afternoons are not good times.

What about on Fridays? I think we would be there sometime Friday afternoon depending on when we leave the DFW area.

Usually not too bad, but if it's anytime from 4-7 pm, the traffic will be fun

Let me know though. I love me some Lime Creek!

I'll be staying much closer to SA. So not taking 35E will add a good amount of time. Getting infomation of where people are staying will help plan this better as I would guess we are not all at the same location.

The places I was considering for food in SA:
http://www.doughpizzeria.com/
http://schilos.com/
http://www.chrismadrids.com/
Chris Madrid's is the place to go for dinner. Plus it is super close to my house, so I could definitely meet up with you all if you don't mind a newly-transplanted local mixing with the D-towners.

Schilo's isn't bad, but the parking downtown is less than favorable. Great breakfast though. Never been to Dough, but have heard good things.

There's also Rudy's BBQ outside of town. Or there is Chunky's (home of the 4 Horsemen burger) or Beto's for Mexican food, both of which were made more popular from some TV show that I've never seen.

For good parking, but less great food, there's a ton of restaurants in the Quarry Market at 281 & Jackson-Keller. Everything from a burger joint to Flemming's steak to a great pizza joint which has less great parking, but way better food.

There's another joint which isn't famous but is maybe worth seeing. Called something like Good Time Charlies (I'll try to get the exact info if interested). This is the epitome of a dive bar/restaurant.

Let me know if you all need more guidance and I can check things out.

Cheers,

That sounds like a great plan to me!!! And for those who aren't familiar with blue bonnet they only take cash or checks and NO credit cards! (If we end up stopping there of course)

yeah i was thinking about just waiting in cedar hill near an off ramp on 67 and you could just let me know when you were getting close with the radios. If you left a little earlier at 11:30 we should be able to meet up with dustin on the way and get to blue bonnet by 3:00 so we can beat traffic at lime creek

More than likely it would be Cleburne. No matter which route we take, I'm gonna have to drive to Crowley to fill up and then again in Round Rock/Austin.

Yeah that will work for me. Where are you staying for friday night? I may just hang out in marble falls after doing lime creek and eat at the river city grill for dinner and then finish my trip to kerrville.

Is this the right Lime Creek Road? I made a map that leaves from dallas, goes to marble falls then to Lime creek road and back to marble falls.

We could do lime creek road and then go back to marble falls (and eat @ bluebonnet??) and take 281 south from there and people could go there seperate ways from there as 281 heads south towards san antonio, and can be taken towards kerrville.

Instead of taking the same way there and back to lime creek I would suggest making a loop with Hamilton Pool road (just put in Hamilton pool as its an actual park in the middle of that road) or some other rural roads on the south side of the lake. Not as twisty as lime creek but faster, more scenic, and no LEO as Jyn calls them so you get a little of everything. I've done that particular loop several times - whenever there is some excuse to go to marble falls.

For ease in the GPS use: Marble falls, Sandy Creek Park (Leander) which is off Lime Creek, Hamilton Pool Park, Marble Falls. See the google map for the route - I think you'll like it.

Hamilton Pool (so crowded on weekends they turn people away but if you go down on Friday...)

If you want a mid-way place to stop and like wine (or right now peaches) Fredericksburg is more fun than Marble falls (the WW2 museum in Frederickburg is also nice, the restaurants are better, more hotels etc) - you can go lime creek, to Pedernales Falls, to Fredericksburg. Again take back roads between lime creek and Pedernales rather than the 290 highway.

Pedernales Falls
