You don't find very many 2 ohm 6.5" woofers either, so don't feel bad. Your best bet is a small amp like the one I listed in place of the original door amp. Clareon makes one, but I like alpine better. Kicker makes very small amps for their motorcycle line that might work as well.
They'll honestly be fine. They won't be doing all they could be, but they'll work well enough. Make sure you actually need another amp before you spend the money. |

Nothing is ever plug and play, unless someone has already taken the time to make adapter cables. It's pretty simple though, if you take your time and study what needs to be done in detail before you start cutting wires. Read diagrams, draw it out, plan, read some more, draw it again, and then do the thing. Heat shrink goes on before you solder or crimp wires. As I said though, you may not even need a different amp. Crank it up and give it a listen first.

A quality 8" sub in proper enclosure with "sufficient power" will provide plenty of bass. Regardless of what size the power and cleanliness of power provides the largest difference in quality and amount bass.

Anyway, the reply right below your question is pretty accurate. Some company - I think Alpine? - makes an amp that's as close to plug and play as possible. You just need a harness, I think. What are you replacing your factory amp for? Just FYI, I replaced my door speakers and have zero problems with them using the factory amp. |

Forget what everybody's saying about 8" subs not being effective. I mean, it'll never pound like a 10-12, but I have a kicker 8" in a small sealed box in the trunk and it pounds plenty. The idea of not hearing it over the door speakers is absurd. There is no overlap in the sounds they produce of course you'll hear it.
My amp is only putting out like 175 watts to a single 8 and it's quite great. |

OP, that ain't gonna fit under the seat bro.
I've had two 10" in the old car. Thought I'd try a 12" this time. Got a 12" powered enclosure (includes 12" subwoofer) from Kicker. Does the job. Can't even hear myself think with volume at 35, and the whole car rattles like it's coming apart. I love it! Downside is it took up most of the trunk space ![]() |
