In safe mode? Car runs the exact same as it does "fully warmed up". I would understand if I felt ANY loss of power or anything to suggest "safe mode". But, there's no difference.

Also, it's not a matter of yolo. It's a matter of I truly just don't believe a car needs time to "wake up". Never had a problem with any of my vehicles. My turbo gsx has no warm up, no Ill effects on the motor, trans, or turbo. My 95 k1500 gets no warm up, no Ill effects on it at 296k original miles.

Since my car is parked in a 17-20*C garage I just get in and go while keeping the RPMs moderately low until it reaches full temp. If it's parked outside and much colder, then I will give it a minute or so.

I start the car, put my seatbelt on and drive off, I just don't pass 4K RPMs till the car is almost completly warmed up.

as long as it takes me to put my seatbelt on.

When below freezing: as long as it takes me to scrape the windshield.

So your point is? Even IF it is in safe mode (I have no reason to believe that), then the alternative is to NOT drive it and wait?
I see no reason to wait....

Perhaps I am always flashing my ecu, the vvti needs to calibrate itself when I start the car so yeah, I always let the cold start sequence to complete.

I don't think you're doing your engine any favors by running it like you stole it from startup, if that's what you are saying. It's ok to drive it soon as it starts, but keeping the revs down below 3k-3.5k until temp reaches normal is much safer, and probably much better for the engine longevity. But, it's your car, do as you please.

I start the car, put my seatbelt on, plug in my phone, hit audio-ipod-shuffle and go. By this time the idle has usually settled from the "cold start" high idle. Maybe 30 seconds. It's a modern car; there's no choke, any more than a minute and you're wasting fuel.

I start it, then almost instantly back out of the garage (fumes suck into the house if not). Buckle the seat belt, and pull up the driveway and out.

Ain't nobody got time for that.

Unless it's sub-zero outside, or it's 1964 and your car has a carburetor instead of EFI, just start it up and drive away.

I'll sit in the driveway dinkin' with the radio, fussin with the bluetooth, or skipping songs on the Ipod til I find suitable driving music. Only once something capable of waking me up that early in the morning is found will I start rollin into work. Usually takes a minute or so

About 30 seconds for the rpms to drop from ~1500 to 1000 and the idle sound to get quiet.

Stay below 3000 rpm until the water temp gets to full temp, then stay below 4000 rpm. I'm still at 700 miles on odo.
