Some odd months ago there were reports that Skylines (mainly R34s) were being impounded in L.A. due to them being illegally imported and/or wrongfully made street legal.

Let me see if I can find any link that talked about it.

That wasn't months ago, that was years ago. The Motorex dudes were the ones who got shut down

I think he was talking about Kaizo industries. They imported the shells and the customer had to come up with the engine, drive train, etc. Once reassembled it was titled as kit car but the Feds still consider it a Skyline, so there is still a chance for it to get seized.
