Just a joke, sorry if I offended anyone.

don't worry about offending me, I probably have the record for unintentional offending around here, plus it was over two decades ago. Car wrecks could be ugly back then. I think I counted one only one recommendation and I bought a tatrix cable instead (the khey board recommended was $180). My keyboard is driving me nuts. It has to be the worst Keyboard ever made, even the way the keys are squared off sucks. I-rocks in case anyone wants to avoid it. Anything backlit, small, and under $50 bucks I'm willing to try after buying that cable thatt's the budget. Until then I'm dragging out my old mechanical PS/2 keyboard. Engine tuning is priority of course.

Interesting fact you can but a compact (small numberpad-fee) backlit usb key bad.
CM storm sells one thats has a num pad but is fairly small. I'm going with this Cool Mast Raid Storm Chrrry brown mechanical switches. I guess I didn't release how few keyboards are mechanical this days. As far as illumination. Either a clip on USB reading light or open her up and wire small LED's onside. But I think most of the problem is cheap keys. Thanks for your help.

You have a mechanical PS2 keyboard already? Get a flashlight on a tripod and no need to spend a ton of money

@n2oinferno I went with this: http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/...t_detail&p=635
looks like a decent board. Thanks for your informative post about quality keys.
