You are confessing that its a huge time consuming task, so there could very well be some changes with B01c that improve the engine life.

Personally thought the whole business cass for OFT was for the customer to tweak the latest factory rom. But doing all this tuning, flex fuel, vortec, headers, etc.

I think there are a lot more people who just want to avoid the dealer and tinker than risk E85 and Vortec on this iffy engine. JMHO

Mate if all you want is a stock rom then just ask on this forum somone will post up a stock b series and you can flash it to your car.

Yep correct OFT will only load same cal id ROM,s

You could use Tactrix or some other flashing device or

If the ROM get is definitly compatable with you car ie an update.

1. Open the B01C ROM with a hex editor search for cal id B01C
2. Change the calid to A01C or A00C whatever you car is
3. save it.
4. the check sum will be wrong but OFT should fix this
5. load it to OFT
6. Flash it with OFT
7. if no go flash your standard ROM from OFT or another tune already in the OFT

Note I have not actually done this so its at your own risk
