Hrm... I've been talking to one of the reps at Tustin Scion/Toyota, and was supposed to hear back when they had one in stock that I could at least sit in.

I'm a bit worried about actually being able to fit inside the car, as I'm 6'7". Finding fun vehicles that fit folks like me can be awkward. I think I'll swing by and see what's going on.

Edit: My dealer just called. That vehicle is one of the 1st 86, and the Scion ceremony for it is tomorrow. My vehicle should be arriving at the port in a few days. He'll be keeping me updated.

I don't think I'll be able to make it to the event or whatnot tomorrow, I have a meeting. I'm pretty bummed.

I'm not a pro, but I can help-

ISO does play a role but it's not completely responsible for that washed out white look of the car. To put it simply the higher the ISO value the more light is allowed to enter the camera making for a brighter picture, but the side effect of a high ISO is "image noise". At the same time an ISO value which is to low will result in image blur. Most situations a steady hand and an ISO value of 100-800 is preferred.

For capturing that true white colour you'll have to play around with your white balance settings. For P&S camera there's a bunch of presets like Sunny, Cloudy, Florescent, etc... that will give you proper lighting compensation for the environment.

good luck and take some great picture!

Not to de-rail, but ISO does not control the amount of light that the camera (lens) lets in. The ISO controls how sensitive the sensor is to the light that is being let in. Showing the 'pearly-ness' of the paint is all going to be based on the lighting the car is sitting in. Adjusting the shutter speed (exposure time) and white balance can help, but in the end...if the car is sitting it bad light, you're going to have a tough time showing it off.

^ yup, hence why the overcast skies that I had to work with didn't show off the pearl the best. Still looked awesome though
