Stock tires = 20lbs according to Tire Rack
Stock wheels = 20.1lbs IIRC Most tires Ive been looking at are ~23lbs per corner new, and the wheels I want are 15lbs (17x8). It may only be 2-3lbs per corner, but its rotating mass.

The stock tires are 21lbs, stock rims are 20.1lbs.
So the stock wheel/tire combo is 41lbs. Going to a lighter rim will help with the increase in tire weight you'll get by going to a stickier tire with stiffer sidewalls. That said, when it comes to performance the application will often have more impact on your wheel/tire choice than weight. But for a daily driver and weekend warrior, looking at weight will help maintain the acceleration and braking performance the car had from the factory. |

WOULD 18 X 8 40+ look better? as in have a slightly less of the wheel well showing? Cause I am looking at enkei and they have 18x8 with 40+ instead of 45+.

The front seems ok, the rear definitely needs more offset.
I'd go 9+45 like most of the Rays size for 86/BRZ. |

It really sucks how most new cars suffer from "sunken rear wheel syndrome". If you run the same fitment all around, the rear always looks too small while the front is flush. I really dont want to run a staggered setup, but I do want to fill out the wheel wells nicely*
![]() *Not hella-flush or hella-poke or any of that nonsense, just simply flush.
