I've always wanted the R1 in blue.
There is something about that blue! My 01 R1 a lighter blue compared to my 06 R6 and they keep getting darker and darker it seems.

Yamaha's racing color is def blue (yellow for the 70/80's) but for some reason the 09 R1 looks sick in Valencia White w/a red frame!

That's the one. I love the red frame tho, Yamaha know how to make combo colors.

Should Toyota hire some of Yamaha designer for their products? even though Yamaha makes bikes(er.. eletronics, music instruments and....), I believe they also can do a sick design on cars.

Yamaha and Toyota already had a collaboration going on but imagine if they helped Toyota design the engine for the FT!

The Toyota 3S-GE is an in-line 4 cylinder engine manufactured by Toyota as part of the S engine family and tuned by Yamaha Motor Company. The cylinders are numbered 1-2-3-4 with cylinder number 1 beside the timing belt. The cylinder heads are made of aluminium alloy. The pent-roof combustion chambers are complemented by a cross-flow intake and exhaust layout. The spark plug is located in the center of the combustion chamber. The ignition order of the cylinders is in the 1-3-4-2 order.

Check out the cross plane crank on the 09 R1

Screw the boxer engine, let Yamaha take a stab at it! I had a carb'd '01 R1 and a '06 R6 with the fly-by-wire.

Even though they were 2 different cc'd bikes but only a matter of 5 yrs apart, the technolgy between each was literally night and day. There is so much R&D and a close connection between the SBK/factory race teams and the actual production models.

Calm down man. Toyota used to mention that They will fill the slot between FT-86 and LFA with a sport car, Let's see(I couldn't find the article, but I'm sure Toyota mentioned it before). It may inspire by Yamaha tuned engine.

I don't care if Toyota use Subaru's boxer engine or Yamaha's i4 engine. I just want engine that is well balanced. Just enough hp, tq and rpm. Rest is up to driver and mechanic's skill to make it fast... just like AE86.

No, not really. It's not really a requirement for FT86c to have Boxer engine for me. If FT86c came w Boxer engine, that'll make me happy that's all.

Either it come with Subie's engine or Toy's engine, I gonna test drive it and make sure I like it or not. If it came w Subie's engine and I didn't like it, I won't buy it. It goes same thing w Toy's engine was in the FT86 instead. Freak if it had Honda's engine and it drive the way I want, then I'll buy it in heartbeat (I'm not saying Honda engine sux or anything).
