Scion Canada's idea of making a big splash for the rollout:

Have a draw for one car. For the entire country of 35 million people. Do not announce winner until mid-October.

Do nothing else.

Let me help fill in some of the blanks. I know very well the guy who is getting the car on May 8th, so well that I am flying in for the party.
Last week when he was at his Scion dealer the he met a Regional Scion Rep who gave him his VIN #. Nothing further was said about timing at that time. Yesterday the same Scion Rep called (FYI, yesterday was the guys birthday) to ask him if May 8th would work for him. The Party sounds like a pretty big deal as it will not be at his Scion dealer but at another larger dealership in Portland. I found this very interesting that his Scion dealer was not going to be the one to host the party. There are going to be gifts and prizes and food... It sounds like a several hour event and he is very excited. I asked him if he knew about the special 86 identification that was discussed at their Long Beach event and he said he was to excited he forgot to ask at the time. I know he will be working with his dealership next week to finalize details on the car. Scion has been amazing and this sounds like a once in a lifetime experience for the lucky 86...

Congrats! There is almost no chance of my dealership doing this. I'm not even sure they still know what an FR-S is. Very sad.

By the way, if they are using this as a promo event, use that as leverage to get some freebies or reduced "Doc fees". Otherwise, tell them no thanks I'll just pick my car up after dark, in the garage!

I wish Subaru dealerships were this excited about the car. Scion dealers seem like they're really embracing the FR-S, whereas the Subie dealers seem to think "ugh, it's not AWD so no one's gonna buy this thing".

It's sporatic, and I think it depends one whether the dealership is made up salespeople or car people.
