My wife is definitely an anti-ricer. Over the weekend, I had to try to explain to her the difference between a riced-out Civic with fart can and crappy spray painted matte black paint job that was buzzing by on the freeway, and a matte-black wrapped GTR that we saw parked the day before. "They both look the same to me!" she said, and I really couldn't argue much with that.

Depends on the grain. I mostly stick to long grain, white rice which has a minutiae of taste but still mostly bland. Orange or Mexican rice, that's pretty good, though that's still white rice saute with cumin, chicken or beef stock, and tomato juice if I recall correctly.

Not too fond of brown rice.

Brown rice can be almost as good as white rice. The trick is to cook it twice.

HOLY CRAP THERE ARE MORE THAN ONE KIND OF RICE?????????

I am only semi joking as I had never seen rice much less eaten it until I was well into my army time. To this day I doubt I have eaten a full pound of the stuff (I just heard the collective gasp of half this forum).

Learn something new everyday. I'll try that out next time!

Well sir, if you ever do come down to the PNW, I'll treat you to a cozy dinner at the best Chinese or other Asian restaurant Seattle and surrounding area has to offer.

Or maybe I'll make some rice porridge.
