Eh, everytime I got harrassed I wasn't "hooning it". It would be for things like driving 80 in a 65 on the highway (not weaving, just going straight with CC on) which is pretty normal. Driving through an intersection at yellow. Not coming to a complete and total stop before making a right turn.

When I drove my sti with a giant ricer wing (stock) on it, I'd get pulled over. I switched to a TL and never do anymore. Same roads, same driving habits. I joke with my brother all the time that the TL has cop stealth. I'm afraid the brz in any bright color will be the opposite.

Well, really, you were kind of asking for it. Even in MA, home of the "Mass-hole", 15 over will get you nabbed quickly. And not stopping before turning right on red is the same as blowing through a stop sign. Neither is good behavior to stay under a cop's radar.

As I said, the car above screams "ticket me!" but I never was. Be safe, be sane, be sensible.

I'd say a good 50% of the population drives 15 over on the highway I'm talking about (95 between NH and Boston). Likewise, I'd say less than 5% of the population comes to a complete stop before making a right turn if it's obviously clear with good visibility. These are pretty normal driving habits that will get you ticketed purely at the cops option. This is what I'm talking about that sucks about cars that get profiled.

I agree. Any "target car" I've ever owned in 25+ years of driving (and well over 1M miles) has been red. Not a single ticket. Only speeding tickets I've ever gotten were in a '64 Ford Falcon wagon (baby blue) and on my '83 Honda Silverwing. (OK the Silverwing was burgandy) Both times, I deserved exactly what I got.

I went to a wounded warrior Corvette event last year, and we had a police escort from the Corvette museum to Ft Knox and back again. During the event we had some time to talk with the troopers escorting us, and the question of car color came up. They all agreed that color didn't matter as far as they could tell.

I've been pulled over in my minivan twice (minivans are badass BTW). Should've gotten tickets both times, but I got warnings both times.

80 is a reasonable speed on the pike and on 95, but you still have to slow down for cops and keep an eye out. If everyone is going 80 you probably won't get nabbed but if traffic is going 65 and you're blowin by them you have to be more careful. And if you roll through a stop in front of a cop that just means you need to keep a better eye out for cops when you're breaking the law. (stopping at stop signs isn't a terrible habit, either)

The flattest of blacks and the mattest of whites cannot mask driving like an asshat. Above all, humans are evolved predators, and the one thing that catches any predator's eye is erratic movement. Being a smooth driver, whether on road or track, is the key to moving quickly with the least amount of drama.

And yes, I know "mattest" isn't a word. You know what I mean, so go F'yerself!

I live near a city called Carmel which is full of rich people. They have TONS of cops and 0 crime so all the cops do all day is try to find people going a little over the speed limit and ticket them so their government can make more money to build massive wasteful mansion-like buildings for government workers. All 3 tickets I've ever had were in Carmel (one was 13 over, one was 14 over, and another was 17 over). Two of which were on the highway where the normal traffic flow is 15-25 mph over the speed limit. If you go the speed limit there, you will probably get hit. But the government knows that and purposely lowers the speed limits so they can always ticket people for it and make $. As a result, I refuse to go there unless I absolutely have to. And everyone around here knows Carmel is notorious for nazi-like cops. Not that cops in other areas are much better.

Also, do you guys notice how cops tend to let big cars off the hook more easily? They hate high performance cars even though they can stop and turn much better than other cars and they most likely have more attentive drivers!

LOL, I remember one day they put up a no turn on right sign - which had never been there before. And there was a cop standing in the middle of the street telling everyone who turned to pull over. There were like 10 cars that had been pulled over (including me). I so wanted to just accelerate past that dumass cop standing in the road. Just an asshole trying to meet his end of the month quota. And to top it off he used my car to write on which could have scratched it.

I've got a WRB wrx. Not a single ticket, haven't even pull over. And I'll be honest, I speed pretty much all the time. only about 10 over, but I don't weave or drive like an idiot. If you drive normal, you'll have no issues.

If I get one, I'm torn between wrb and the hot lava

Cops are not attracted to one color more than another. It's the one car that is driving differently than the rest of the crowd that draws his attention.
