Yup, and thus, you'd want to accelerate very quickly at a metered on ramp b/c it stops you at the end of the on ramp, and you lose all the velocity built up getting on it, and thus have very little road in which to get up to merging speed on the freeway.
Which is why if no one is in front of me, I ignore the light when the on ramp is metered. Much safer that way. Still, it's a situation that is frequent & normal & would bring out the idiot tone from the BRZ  Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk
