I would be very surprised if this were the case - it seems like it would be easier for them to keep the same engine across the lineup rather than needing to have 2 separate engines for a car in this price range.

I think the brz limited has all the options I need. There's plenty of aftermarket stuff out there to make it faster. I probably wouldn't trade up unless it was something spectacular like a 400hp engine from the factory. Which I doubt they'll increase it that much. My guess would be 20-30 HP increase for mid cycle upgrade.

I love have a 2.0 L 4 cylinder! As long as the aftermarket stays saturated with current parts. We are in good shape. I have always wanted a 2.0 L 4 cylinder turbo RWD. So, I like everything that's out there currently. And I do not see that changing. No worries.
