second for edecals.com, used them several times.
After last weekend at Barber, I'm going to ditch the magnetic numbers. The magnets attracted the metal from the brake dust throughout the weekend, and then it rained, and when I took my numbers off, I had rust stuck to the car in the outline of the numbers. Took a bunch of passes with the claybar to get it all off, but was no fun. I'm probably just going to get a sheet of adhesive numbers to stick to the quarter windows, or just go with the old reliable window chalk or tape. |

This and only this when starting out. $5 will cover you for a year if you end up making a busy schedule.

If you wanted to get really creative, you could create a stencil with enough room for overspray, then use something like ArmorAll's Custom Shield Coating (similar to PlastiDip but made specifically for auto paint).
Tape on the stencil, spray, go, peel off.

White shoe polish, the ones with the sponge type applicator at the end. When we go through scrutineering here, they just use it and write the number on the back window. After event it comes of super easy with water.
Do try. |

This stuff
http://m.countdown.co.nz/ProductDetails/79794 On my phone atm, but if you go to my project fb page, look in my "other cars" album, there should be a couple of pics and maybe a vid of my sti at a drag racing event with the race number written on this way. That's all they do here in NZ. Aside from guys with dedicated race cars with permanent numbers, I've only ever seems race numbers written on using this product. |

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!
I think for the future I may use the magnetic vent covers... But for this event I used scotch blue painters tape and then put neon pink duck tape over it. Gave it plenty of contrast on the DGM paint...plus got comments for reppin sti colors haha. Got 2nd in my class at the event...lost to another ltd brz but he had 225 stickier tires

The magnetic vent covers I tried were barely big enough for car numbers, and were very thin, wouldn't trust them to stay on the car at higher speeds or heavy wind. I just buy thicker magnetic sheet stock online to make my numbers. I've bought it from **** Blick art supply, and a race shop. I make templates on the computer, print them out, trace onto the magnetic sheet, and cut out. These have stayed on the car at triple digit speeds on track.
