They took pics of my taillight while I was standing there, getting things I needed out of my car. Just spoke to my advisor and he said they're waiting for Toyota to approve the repair. What I don't get is how the f%#@ is it even a question?

It's a known issue. Every single person in the service department that saw my car yesterday said, "Oh yeah, every one of these that comes through that door has that problem," so why the hell is it a discussion at all? Just fix it and sort out the paperwork later. All they're doing is aggravating their customers.

Someone asks me to give them a good rating in a few days, they're going to get an on-the-spot review they won't like.

Maybe now is a good time for some Tom's or Valenti tails?

It's too bad you can't make them pay for them, sorry about the issues your having OP. Patience is the best practice though, gotta give them a fair chance to make it right.

Oh no I am NOT paying for taillights. Though, I wouldn't mind the Tom's lenses...

At the moment, they're keeping the car another day, to get approval from Toyota. This will likely be the nastiest letter I've yet to write (Even after the dozens of coilpacks I did in my 1.8t), and I'm going to the service manager after this. The advisor said he's got my gas, but that really just isn't good enough.
