The ark was off of the door latch u bolt thingy. No other part of the car (when exiting) grounds as good. I always keep one hand on the car when refueling.

hmm, I haven't been shocked by my car in a long time. i'd forgotten that it used to zap the shit out of me whenever i'd get out.

wtf?! With the door all the way open you can use the edge of the dash...it's sort of shaped like a grab bar.

FYI to all those putting their hands on the roof and door frame, you better wash your car on a regular basis and wax because hand oils will eat through that paint and/or oxidize over time.

Thanks everyone for your input over this important issue.

OK, the magazine desription term "grab bar" was poor. I have cancelled my subscription. It is better described as a "wrist rest" and if you are careful your skin need never contact the paint as you push off. I recommend you put your wrist out on the rest first, followed by your leg. Failure to do so can result in limp wristedness.
