I like the red stitching for the BRZ because it matches the gauge and instrument control lighting.

Lol who said they sat in it at DC and the cloth felt great lol. You were sitting in a leather and alcantra seat, that's not cloth XD and theirs no way to tell none had been in a FRS to review the seats and only one premium Brz has been shown and no one got in that either. But they have been so Japanese reviews of their four seat options ill go look into that see what they say.

That would increase cost. I'll take red stitching over those Autozone seat cover looking atrocities in the FRS.

Thanks, Zaku! Looking forward to that.

I just want something that doesn't attract pet hair I seem to carry around with me everywhere, but it's not a deciding factor on which car I get,

I would certainly hope "pet hair" isn't a factor in a sports car purchase.

I wish it had that Volvo T-Tec material. Love it.

Subaru are dog tested and dog friendly, pet hair it might be an issue. Never know what the dogs did to the BRZ seats during testing.

Ofcouse I'm just playing around.

It's not surprising that the BRZ comes with nicer seat materials.

I think there's actually four. RA/RC models use low grade fabric without the red stitching.

My current car has a similar seat to the brz as far as materials and while the microsude is durable it starts to look worn sooner than traditional fabrics. The suede feeling starts to get worn flat even though it is still in good shape
FR-S looks like microfiber. Micro suede or faux suede is actually a high quality material that I also have on the bolsters of my current car. Center section of the BRZ looks to be some sort of jersey material.

Just judging from the picture it looks like the FRS seat fabric is that micro suede material that shows and picks up EVERYTHING, every little particle and hair is going to show through on that material. In the long haul it will also fade and wear noticeably. Not too sure on the BRZ but it seems closer to a BMW-esque sport cloth so it should stay cleaner and only wear on the bolsters. Ah hell I'm probably going with leather anyways.

The question is how much better the alcantara will be than the stuff in those photos. Only the bolsters and head rests will probably be leather.

I'm actually kind of worried about that. I've only seen alcantara in cars that don't see a lot of use. They use it in Ferrari's and special edition porsches all the time, but a lot of those cars don't see the kind of mileage we will be putting on these cars as DDs. And I've read of people who have had problems with it shedding on those cars which is really scary since I expect that they are putting on a lot less miles. Definitely heard of problems with alcantara steering wheels due to the oils on your hand and stuff ruining the fabric. It is also a pain to clean so I have heard.

Anyone have experience with 50k+ miles on an alcantara seat? photos would be real good.
