If you can see any part of your car in your side mirrors they need to be adjusted much further out to see into your blind spot.
I'll try this approach. Thanks.

Drive a celica before you drive the FRS and you'll get use to it

Ben, I don't know if we're different in physical size or not. I'm 5'10", 155 lbs. and I don't have a problem spot. I do drive with my seat pretty far to the rear. I'm hoping all you need to do is spend a little more fine tuning the adjustments. Make sure your rear view mirror is centered so it doesn't favor one side over the other.

I just point out the mirrors to the point where I can't see the side of my car anymore. It doesn't completely eliminate the blind spot but it helps alot. Learned that trick when I had my s2k.

Or you can just drive faster than everybody else so you don't have to worry about a blind spot

I used to run my mirrors so I could see the rear of my car in them, until my friend actually told me how to set them up. Haven't had a blind spot since.

She told me to basically lean my head into the window, then adjust the driver's mirror from there to where you can see the edge of the rear of your car, and the same for the passenger, just lean as far as you can.

You shouldn't see the same car in your rear view mirror, as you do in your side views, that's just counter productive.

Not true in the dark, before I started using convex mirrors, I almost hit a motorcyclist trying to merge on the right lane because I couldnt see his headlight and he was definitely in my blind spot. Dont ask me how he got there, I have a habit of always checking my side mirrors in case some idiot tries to cut me off forcing me to swerve.

i've tried but because not everybody is the same (height, size and what not) I think simply buying those small blind spot mirror should be good enough and would not eliminate your heated mirrors functionality. And they're cheap too.

just my two cents

I've sort of settled on just leaning forward a bit to look in the mirror when I change lanes but it's never quite as natural as less sport cars... oh well, nothing more driving won't fix! =)

After a near miss 15 years ago (with properly adjusted mirrors!) I've learned never to rely totally on the mirrors. It is now habit to physically turn my head and visually check/clear any potential blind spots.

Today is my third day with this car. I just realized how horrible the blind spot is when you're trying to do a uturn.

I was under a bridge doing a uturn and i seriously could not see shit. I had to be sure that oncoming traffic was at a red light before i could go

First couple of days with the car I had two incidents were I began to change lanes into an overtaking vehicle. I set the outside mirrors way wider. It has never happened again.

I have adjusted both outside mirrors so that the line on the far side of the next lane appears in the lower outside corner of the mirror. Almost as far out as they adjust.

Glance in the rearview mirror, sideview mirror, over your shoulder; if you don't see it, it's not there.

this is "dead nuts" accurate!. IF properly adjusted, then "TRUST'' what you see in your mirrors.
