The Coilovers.
Well my Vacation in Europe was awesome.
But back to my build The coilovers Fortune Auto really puts together a nice set of coilovers. I'm really impressed with them. ![]() So let the fun begin ![]() ![]() With age comes an understanding that even the smallest piece of metal in your eye really sucks. Be safe people. ![]() ![]() ![]() This jack from Harbor Freight is just awesome, the low profile and reach makes working on a lowered car a breeze. ![]() Another little safety measure as even though these cars are really lite, having one fall on your head would really suck. ![]() Out with the old, in with the new. ![]() ![]() Have I mentioned again how much I like the quality of these? ![]() Having done numerous suspension changes over the years and there being plenty of "DIY" "How To" posts about installing coilovers, I'll leave it to replying to quesions on the install if anyone has them. But taking my time and taking pictures and all that I only had 3 hours and 30 minutes into this job. Everything was a breeze. ![]() Little electrical tape trick to keep from scratching the adjusters. I'd have liked these in stainless, but hey for the price, they are amazing. So here's the mistress for her first time, down to her fighting height. ![]() ![]() So I decided to wait on the sway bars and drive it like this for a while. I'm happy I did, it gave me some time to get used to the new grip levels of the tires and lower CG, as well as evaluating the body role with the new set up and stock bars. So when It came time, I decided to just try the front bar first and see how this changed the balance. And another running shot from the trip to Scion Exposed 10 in Tampa. ![]() I really like these running shots. |

Looks awesome! At first I thought that these cars really needed an 18in wheel to look good but the 17" with meaty tires is growing on me.

I agree many car manufacturers make the wheel wells so large you have to go with bigger rims. I don't think that is the case at all with the GT86. I am happy because the weight increase going to a 18 inch rim is a real disadvantage for racing and keeping your rotating mass to a minimum,I prefer the 17's.
