My wheel barrels get caked in dust anyway just due to the aggressive compounds, so it doesn't do anything for me.

I just got a set of 08+ sti brembo front and rear, 50k miles, with 90% stoptech pads.

$900 shipped. Is it a good deal?

I think I will need lines and rotors right?

Do you have any more pics of the final product? Any additional lessons learned/observations now that you have had them on for several months?

I know this post has been vacant for awhile.
I have just been wondering if anyone has tried installing the 4 pots on the rear? Or if anyone makes a bracket? Pretty common to buy a front big brake kit so then you could put the front STi caliper on the rear and you're donezo.

I'm sure with the right bracket it could be done. The TRD Griffon uses a 6pot/4pot combo from brembo. I just don't know if the sti ones are the same design. If someone makes that bracket, we'll be seeing more 6/4pot combos.

But why would you want to fit the front 4-pots on the rear? If you really need 4-pots in the rear then can't you just get the proper 4-pot designed for rears and pair them with matching 6-pot fronts from the same kit/model?

As far as what comes EVO STis, didn't they only come with 4-pot fronts no 6-pot?

I had an Evo 10 before the BRZ, and yes, only 4-pot fronts.

Correct the Evo's and the STI's only came with 4-pot fronts, but brembo does offer their Gran Turismo kits with 6-pot front and 4-pot rears for the FRS/BRZ if you really wanted to go that big.

Point being, there are many aftermarket kits which already offer 6/4 BBK's that bolt straight on, why would anyone want to mess about and fit calipers designed for front and fit them on the rears. Imagine the brake bias issues you'd be having by doing so...

I agree. Spending $5,000-8,000 on just brakes is wild!!!

The question was for money saving purposes. Of course in a perfect world I would love to buy a 6 pot/4 pot kit but that's a lot of scratch. It would be reasonable to get a front BBK and take my Brembo STi fronts that are already installed and install them in the rear. Now I have a 6/4.
And what do you mean by brake bias issues?
