What difference does it make? The threads that are created specifically mention that these are group buys. He is not profiting in any way, we're just trying to save shipping costs since we have the good fortune of being located to the far south of Africa.

Seriously pathetic, guess we need to find a new supplier.

This was not a group buy, but a chance for you to get a large order into South Africa and for us to save on shipping costs.

But never mind we will go elsewhere.

I still don't get why it's a problem in the first place. If you had bought 20 and resold them in SA at a profit they would never have known(or cared) but it's all been above board.

The problem is that the aluminum plaques are exclusive to 86_ZN6

I don't understand why there's any problem either, but the end result is quite clear - they're not likely to sell anything into SA now... Bad move.

Fair enough, so we put our money together, order 20 of them from 86_ZN6 which gets shipped to Ryan and Ryan sends them to us. I still don't see a problem.

i did a costing on these.
Material - Allum 6062 - R 13.89
Water or jet cutting into shape-R15,00
Milling of 86 emblem on a Hurco VM10 -R 25,00
Adding red or black annodising -R6,00
COST = R59,89

We can have these locally made for a lot cheaper.

I'll make my own,thank you.

Brilliant.

That's less than $7!

Great stuff Watika. Much better than the ~R250 that I was actually prepared to pay to ship from the USA.

If there's still a problem after that then I see no logic in even dealing with that supplier at all.

Ryan is not a dealer - he's an honest guy that devotes a sizeable amount of his time singling out the best accessories available that he knows we will like and allowing a small discerning bunch of enthusiasts an opportunity to get at a realistic price.

86 ZN6 knew exactly what I was doing and this was not a group buy before posting. JR even mailed these pictures to me.

This is what I get for advertising your products to get you in SA and in the spirit of helping my fellow members, as I have happened to buy almost all your products and recommended both Zeta Products and 86 ZN6, but that's done, we don't treat our customers in this manner in Africa.

Goodbye.

yes we had an arrangement that i will post the group buy for you in SA forums.

i even warned you that posting such groupbuy without sponsorship will get you in trouble here

WOW! We are so naughty!!!
Actually buying something together, I need to be spanked!
All this tells me is that the suppliers are putting a mark-up on shipping. That's the only way they could possibly lose any money out of such an arrangement.
If we buy individually then they can add a little on top for the shipping.Hmmmm, unethical? methinks.
