I feel like there are way too many cases of the windshield cracking on the car. Regardless of how low it is the window should hold up more than it is. That was the first time something hit my windshield and it just split.

I wonder if our glass is thinner compared to other vehicles to further save weight and as such more susceptible to cracks.

I've taken some serious hits to my last car's ws with barely a chip. I don't want to be buying new glass every few years.
I remember reading this in another thread about cracked windshields. Apparently it is thinner then the average windshield.

I got a very, very small chip in my windshield. It takes me a minute or 2 to find it, but it is there. It didn't crack the windshield, just chipped it.

Really? what is going on with these windshields? I contacted Scion today and am supposed to get in touch with someone higher up tomorrow. Im hoping to get it replaced and see if it will fall under faulty workmanship or faulty product under the warranty. I do not see how not, especially seeing as its obviously a good bit of people.

First was during the first snow in VA. A rock mixed in snow flew off the road and hit my windshield. The second was a bird. Yep...

Have like 2 small dings but filled it.. I always look way ahead if im right behind a dirt hauler truck to avoid rocks as much as possible..

But yeah oem windshield seems too fragile maybe its made of a lighter materials to save weight idk
My 94 integra windshield took a good beating better..I did get one dime size rock hit me on my Integra that sounded like a gun shot when I was in the freeway..rang my ears..

Got a chip and crack last week, that my Jetta and Corolla would have shaken off. But it cracked down about 20 inches, in 2 minutes. It chipped up in the faux visor area so I did not see chip from inside of car. I thought I was ok. WRONG.
Safelite made appt, had part.. so they thought! Kinda need the moulding too!

Just a matter of time. I usually have at least one windshield replaced every year. Luckily my insurance covers 100% cost of windshield replacement...
