Arr, don't make the mistake I made with my first car, it's something probably everyone knows but I didn't. I hung my air freshener from the passenger window shade. It ended up ruining the leather. Ever since then, I've hung it from the rear view mirror as everyone else does. Over here anyway. I would appear that's not the done thing in the States, which I find quite interesting. I love culture for that very reason.

Here in Canada, we have air freshener that hooks onto the air vents. I'm pretty sure it originated from Asia. I like it better on the vents cause it can distribute the scent better.

We don't like crap blocking our vision. They make air fresheners that you can install in other places, like under the seats, on the air vents, etc. More effective and doesn't block your vision.
