Damn this car has not gotten a bad review yet...Nice!

I like this...

"One thing we all noticed was the lack of a push-start button in the FR-S, something that all the JDM 86 seemed to have. The key-less entry system with push-button may well be an option offered when you order the car, probably along with the climate control which was a manual type on the FR-S and not the two-zone automatic one with digital controls like in the 86. Minor details of course, that have nothing to do with the driving experience."

This car is already an ICON.

This should stop everyone from crying, with the exception that it doesn't cost $25,000 or more for it to have those options. If they throw in the LED DRLs I'll reconsider buying an Fr-S instead.
Base MX-5 $23,200 K
MX-5 with Fogs, keyless entry, and auto climate control (and a bunch of other stuff the FR-S has standard) $26,800

2.0T genesis base $23k (auto for comparison purposes)
2.0T genesis premium (you know, the one with dual zone climate) $26k

Dammit you people need a dose of reality.

So we're looking to pay about $26,000 for a Scion? If that's the case I'll come to terms with reality and get the BRZ. BTW the R.S 7.0 tC is $21,635 so under $25,000 is very possible.

Sure. Whatever. The point is, you aren't getting all the doodads for $21-23k. If the piece of plastic on the front bumper matters that much (especially since it's the same car) when you pay $26k go right ahead.

So 26k is to much for the Scion, but is fine for the same car with a subaru badge? And how exactly does that relate to reality?

Look, this is what I meant from my very first post on this page, people wanted the hvac from the 86 and a push start...that should not put the price of this car past 25 grand. That's all I'm saying. IF in fact it did I would just get the Subaru because I want the Subaru anyway. You're exactly right, if its $25,000 and its the same car, I'd still get the Subaru regardless. I'm just referring to those who wanted these two things in the Scion might have a chance of getting them and they'd be happy being this doesn't push the car cost towards 25 grand, if so tough shit get a Subaru. Good?

I think you will find the premium BRZ(the one said to be 25k in the reviews) is equipped almost the same as the scion. There is a US spec picture of a BRZ with no dual hvac and push button start. There is no way either company will be much higher or lower in pricing with so similar a product with similar options. If you like subaru better then scion thats cool I do too...you just implied 25k is to much for a scion period.

Actually, can you throw me a link to the picture of the USA BRZ premium. The only time I ever recall seeing keys on the BRZ is on the camo-prototype with the keys displayed.

Ya its the camo one, but it does appear to be US spec and it definately has the standard key and hvac. I have only seen 1 painted US spec and it was the limited. They are all still prototypes btw.

Except multiple sources are saying premium BRZ will come with HID and nav standard. We will have to wait and see.

Ya, we need more info from both companies officially to be sure. I bet they don't even know what options they are offering us yet for sure. It's always subject to change at any time, even after release.
