I think someone should develop an aftermarket HEADREST for the stock seats. A head rest that is not angled forward.
I was concerned about this as well from the photos I'd seen, but one reviewer made it clear that the angle of forward tilt is adjustable and did not present an issue...can't remember which reviewer, sorry.

They're "bucket" seats, as opposed to "bench" seats.

Bucket does not imply "race", "sport", or "touring", so while the type of bucket seat they are may be up for debate, they are indeed bucket seats

i dont agree - i would say bucket seats are the none-adjustable type like:

because... well, you cant adjust a bucket

Come on, seriously? Is it an ignorant full-moon lately? The definition isn't open for opinion or interpretation.

Wikipedia has it right: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bucket_seat

Automobiles only have two kinds of seats; bench or bucket. That's it.

That would be a shell or racing shell. Not to be confused with a racing shell boat...

stop being an ass

"...distinct from bench seats which are flat platforms designed to seat multiple people."

bench seat:

bucket seat:

... plain old seat:

as you can see - the third seat is not a bench, and not curved enough around to be a "bucket".

"A bucket seat is a seat contoured to hold one person, distinct from bench seats which are flat platforms designed to seat multiple people." It is really no more complicated then this... Regardless of your opinion. Here is an easy one for you...

Google: "factory bucket seats" then click on images. /thread

Yeah guys, there are three types:

Bench
Bucket
Racing

The pictures I posted on the first reply are the stock cloth seats for the FRS/BRZ. They are bucket seats

Maybe you should have read the entire wikipedia article instead of just stopping when you found a sentence that you felt agreed with your argument (hint: It doesn't).

There is no such thing as a "plain old seat". There are only bench seats, and bucket seats. If it's a seat for one, it's a bucket seat. If it's a seat for two or more, it's a bench seat.

Racing seats are bucket seats, no matter how many sanctioning bodies approve them for competition use. 1 person = bucket, period.

You can't adjust a bench either, but bench seats come in 60/40 or 40/20/40 splits with rails so you can slide them. Bucket seat is an industry term. You don't get to redefine it.
